Welcome to Enterprise2Work

Enterprise2Work (E2W) is a Social Enterprise which provides web design and development services through its trading operation MyCustomWP, together with training courses focused on enabling people to build websites for themselves, the organisations they work for, or to find work as website developers.
The courses are run over a 1, 2 or 3 day period and teach attendees how to use the WordPress web publishing and content management system. E2W can also provide follow-up support to course attendees to help them make the most of their new skills.
WordPress is web software you can use to create a website or blog without first having to spend years learning lots of technicalities. The core software is free and is built by hundreds of community volunteers. When you’re ready to add more to your website, there are thousands of plugins and themes available to transform your site into almost anything you can imagine.
Whether it’s a simple informational site, a large and complex e-commerce site or for a community needing a forum and social networking facilities, WordPress can be used to quickly construct just what is needed. Over 25 million people have chosen WordPress to power the place on the web they call “Home”.
Here at E2W, we have two primary objectives:-
- To help commercial businesses and social enterprises become more effective and capable in their use of the Internet, through the development of websites that increase their visibility, accessibility and ability to generate commercial revenues.
- To assist economically inactive, disabled, or otherwise disadvantaged persons across Wales gain relevant and in-demand skills so that they have the opportunity to find work in the local and global website development marketplace.

The Directors of E2W are Ian and Susan Hope, who also founded the website development business – MyCustomWP.com – after following careers working for major internationals and developing their own skills in the Information Technology and Internet industry. MyCustomWP.com (MCWP) specialises in creating websites for small and medium businesses and provides custom WordPress design, development, training and related services to a wide variety of clients across the UK and the USA. It was out of this succesful commercial business operation that the concept of creating a new Social Firm was born.
Sue and Ian worked closely with The Wales Co-operative Centre and Communities 2.0 to set up the E2W Social Firm and received much valuable advice and guidance both in the creation of E2W and in structuring the “Building Websites with WordPress” training course.
The Wales Co-operative Centre is a co-operative development agency, working across Wales to promote social, financial and digital inclusion through a range of projects. The agency helps communities develop businesses or projects which value people and the environment as much as profit.
Communities 2.0 is a Welsh Assembly Government project which helps community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises in Wales to benefit from technology. Their aims are to break down the barriers to using technology, inspire people, build confidence and create opportunities.
Ian and Sue act as course tutors for E2W and both are certified Professionals for the WordPress Content Management System and Web Publishing Platform, having been assessed by ExpertRating, which is currently one of the few accreditation companies in the world to have been certified under ISO 9001-2008 for its skills testing and training systems. Following succesful completion of the “Building Websites with WordPress” course and a suitable period of practical experience, attendees are encouraged to undertake the ExpertRating online examination in order to achieve their own certification.
